Recovering deleted partition data on Windows PCs

Deleted partition recovery does not actually restore an entire partition. The partition is a usually large segment of a computer’s internal hard drive onto which specific information has been stored. Today’s larger hard drives are often divided into partitions simply for convenience. Also dual boot operating systems require separate hard drive locations which in this case are noted as partitions.

A program for deleted partition recovery is actually a data recovery software tool capable of quickly scanning an entire computer partition and create from that scan a list of all existing and recently deleted files that are capable of being recovered. In this case capable meaning not too badly overwritten with new data. Partition recovery software will generally be able to scan through a computer’s hard drive partition of about 100 GB in size in just a few minutes. That scan results in a created list of all files which can then be recovered or copied to safe external storage.
